F.W. Murnau’s Nosferatu (1922) remains one of the most influential horror films ever made. An unauthorized adaptation of Dracula, the film transformed Bram Stoker’s vampire into the gaunt and terrifying Count Orlok. Its stark expressionist imagery, looming shadows, and creeping sense of dread laid the foundation for the entire vampire genre and continue to haunt cinema more than a hundred years later.
